Hi,
I just have my retaining walls built on the right and left side of the house by a contractor (as shown below,
but I am not sure if they did it right, if you see the 3rd picture, there is no gap in between the house foundation and the retaining wall, should I be worried?, I heard an expansion join is needed when two walls are attached together.

It is not locked on the other end so it is free to push away from the house.
Don't worry, be happy. They look good. Welcome to the site.

It does look good, And depending on how the wall foundation was built will determine if and how much it will move.

Since all we see is all we know, we can't be 100% positive.

But it should be fine as is.
