So I am Dallas, TX where the heat can be unbearable during 2/3rds of the year.

I am thinking of getting some more blown insulation as it is missing in spots along the edge of my home and also thinking about a radiant barrier.

But I have never had a radiant barrier and would like to know are they worth it?
Is there a particular kind that I should get or stay away from?
Does it go on just one side of the attic or all the way around?

Thank you.

I tried to air seal it a little myself, but I'm going to try to get an insulation company in to airseal it, look at my insulation level, soffits, baffles, maybe a ridge vent as well, but I thought I would ask about a radiant barrier, but I know nothing about it.....

Well, along the edge is the hardest...nowhere to walk along the attic edge or lay, big pain in the butt.....
Yes I can move the blown insulation and seal a recessed light or the top plate or the vent boot.
To put in a baffle and insulate it where I can barely reach the area, someone else can do it and I'll supervise.
They also can cut soffit vents and ridge vent.

Now if someone wants to help from this board, come on down to Texas,:biggrin2:
