I live in a town house, the outer walls are cement for fire purposes. I own the house and the railing that leads down stairs was pulled directly out of the cement fire wall. What would be the best way to repair this so the railing can be reinstalled?

Update

So I have been scanning the site and looking for something similar, I found that there is Quikrete anchorning that can be used on railings. However from what I read this seems to be used primarly when mounting to outside cencerete stairs and would be from the ground up, since I have to mount this from the wall out this does not sound like the method.

I also located information on concrete expansion anchors, what I wondering is one from the looks of the hole, which is two clean holes about the size of a quarter. The expansion anchros look to be smaller then the hole itself, I am sure there are larger if this is the right tool for the job. However the hole for the screw that attaches the raling to the wall is smaller then the exansion anchors. Is there a way to attach the railing to the anchors, drill out the hole on the railing mount? Is there another way to do this? Would I be better off patching the concerete and starting fresh? Any help would be great.

most townhouse communities reserve exterior repairs to the hoa - your bldg MAY be stucco over conventional wood framing in which instance it would be advantageous knowig to what you anchor,,, $.25 size holes sound as if lead anchors were originally employed suggesting masonary backup.

Iron railing

Ok I took some picture of the situation at hand hopefully that will clear up some of the questions. As far as HOA no worries there, this is inside the house and there is no HOA for my town house.

I am going to have to do this in two posts, as it will only allow 5 pictures.

Photo 4 - 5 - screw that was previously used for mounting

So this is what was previously used to mount the railing to the cement wall; the issue now is the the old hardware can easily slide in and out of the hole that is in the wall. Would using a cement anchor be the right call in this situation? Will I have to patch the wall? Again any recommendations would be a great help.

Thanks!
