I heard there are these pipes under the sea for the internet what are they made of ? How do they work ? Who made them ? Where do they go ?

A bit off topic since it precedes the internet, but there's an excellent book called Blind Man's Bluff, which is about nuclear attack submarine operations in the 1970s and beyond. The Soviet Union had a lot of undersea communications cables, and some of our subs were able to sneak into the area and tap them. The Soviets never knew it was happening. I was a submariner myself, though I rode a missle boat.
