Hey everyone, my kids bedroom doors when closed have like a 1/4 inch play and when u close our nearest garage door they rattle. I think its from them getting into fights or with friends playing push/pull game. I looked and there doesn't seem to be anyting i can do with the strike plate. Any tips or tricks?

You can remove the strike plate, fill the current screw holes and relocate the strike plate. Or, the simple solution is to get some of those adhesive felt dots you stick on chair legs and put one at the top and one at the bottom of the door stop

If your latch plate looks like the one in the pic below, you may be able to take the plate off and bend the little tab in the middle some, to take up the slack. I would try this first, very simple to do. If it is still sloppy after bending the tab, then move it over like previously suggested.

Look inside the latch plate before removing it.
Some have a rectanguler shaped hole in the tab so you can adjust it with a flat screw driver blade.
No way would I try relocating it!
The holes would be to close together and will not hold a screw.
