I am trying to plan out finishing my concrete wall basement, in northern Indiana.

The exterior of the basement is already insulated with 2" syrofoam. Does this affect how I insulate the inside?

I have been doing a lot of reading, but not seeing much that talks about both interior and exterior insulation. Would the method of using rigid foam on the concrete, framing and using fiberglass batts method still work well?

I see no water issues, though the house is only one year old. I will give it a little more time before starting this project.

Exterior insulation has both advantages and disadvantages. My primary concern is insects getting behind it and nesting or find a path into the house. I have one area where I will be installing rigid on the outside and i will treat the soil as I go to slow any infestations. Below is a related article which discusses the oprions of inside or outside.
