I would like to know how to install rolled insulation in my basement. My kitchen floor is tiled (and cold). How do I install the insulation in the basement under the kitchen floor?
Paper side up against the floor? Or paper side facing down?

Is the basement conditioned? If so, you needn't put insulation between the floors for heat.

You need to look at the rim joist.

Insulating ceiling below will not help - WoW stated, it might even hurt.
