I have a 1950's bathroom with a window in the shower. The stool and bottom of the casing has rotted inside and I'd like to replace it with vinyl, to prevent rotting again.

I've located the vinyl trim but I can't seem to find a vinyl or composite stool. I thought about just skipping the stool and putting another piece of trim along the bottom but it gets tricky because there is tile along the bottom and nothing to attach the trim to along its bottom, unless it is glued to the tile.

Also, I've worked with wood trim but never vinyl. I don't know if cutting and nailing would be the same or are there special methods?

Any advise about this project would be greatly appreciated, especially about the stool.
