Hello, I was looking at replacing my shower in the basement with a tub/shower. However the drain is right in the middle of where the tub would go. Is it possible to put in tub there? Guess I'm not sure how the matching of the drain would work.

You will need to open the concrete up to do that---After it's open moving the pipes is not usually to difficult.

After I removed my shower. The side against the exterior wall is built out off of 2x4. that were on top of sheetrock which was sitting on 2x2 furrings...if that.makes sense.

Is it necessary to build the framing out with the 2x4's? or can the shower/bath be installed to the furrings?

Reason is I was trying to save some room.
