I'm planning to install a LED or florescent light above the door in my linen closet. Many of these lights are plug-in so I thought it's best to install a switched electrical outlet. I bought the Betterswitch BS210 so the light will turn on automatically when I open the door.

Are there restrictions regarding the placement of electrical receptacles in a closet other than they must be at least 16" from the floor? I would like to have the outlet as close as possible to the ceiling and door frame so it won't be noticeable or in the way. Is there a maximum height restriction? How about distance from the edge of a wall?

Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Mark

Any where you want it is fine. Mount it on the ceiling if you like. And is does not have to be 16 inches above the floor.
