We just had new laminate flooring installed in our entire house. I want to reinstall the mirrored bi-fold doors we originally had, but it looks like the track needs to be screwed in floor. I don't want to ruin my new flooring! Any ideas how I can secure the track without ruining my floors?

Laminate has to be able expand and contract. You don't want to screw the laminate directly to the floor or you could have buckling issues. Assuming you like the doors and the track will be there for a long time you could use a holesaw and make a hole. It would have to be smaller than the track so the track covers it. Then in the middle of the hole screw your track in, just snug where the track won't move, but not to tight where you start to cave in the track into the hole.

It is true that floating floor needs the moving space, but I think the bracket may be ok. Those brackets need to be tight and it may work if they were screwed tight to the jamb, not the floor, but Ive had some worry spots before and a few spots does not make the whole floor buckle. If the 4-5' space between the jambs seems to buckle, you may have to drill out 1 1/2 " hole, replace with slightly thicker 1" dia shim and screw on the bracket.
