Goodday all, I am currently working on some projects on my back patio and I wanted to add two lantern style lights to the rear 4X4 supports of my covered patio. The issue I am having is that the base mounting plates of these light fixtures are always larger than a junction box, meaning there will be an overhang which will expose the inside of the lights base and wiring. I am having difficulty finding ideas where someone has done this before. Ideally the light and junction box would be one piece, which doesn't seem to be a thing...at least not with any of the fixtures I have looked at. I am aware that a junction box is a little wider than a 4X4 and I am ok with that bit of overhang.
