Hi!
We are redoing our basement and have a question we can't find the answer to! We have a cold hair return installed into the top of two studs (near the ceiling of the would be wall). There are vent brackets near the bottom of the wall but we are wondering if we have to install any specific ductwork from the return pipe to the would be vent ear the floor, or just sheet rock over it and the air will just use the path in between the studs and the sheet rock.

I am trying to attach a picture to make more sense. Thanks!!

You can just sheet rock over it. but you should put a bead of caulk on the studs and plates to seal the sheet rock to them so its air tight. Including he other side of the wall.
