All right you pros out there. What I want to do is install my carpet before trim. I know I see many people putting the trim before carpet and have read that you are supposed to put the trim before carpet but...... Is this going to be a "MAJOR ORDEAL"? we have family coming for a week and want to do this so the room is somewhat useable.

Putting the trim down after the carpet is fine. Just make sure the installer puts the tackstrip farther from the wall. If not, it wll be hard to replace the carpet in the future. And don't push the trim down hard against the carpet.

Thanks mr. Baker.
I always love to hear from you pro's. You've been around the block a few time.

Ones that are not Pro's like to make it a big deal if you dont go by the industry norm.

By the way... any tips on staining the trim. That will be later on ... but just getting prepared.

Thanks baron

i was planning to do just that... but how about sanding?

You dont do this the same as furniture do ya. the trim has many small crevices.

Do you just
1. apply stain.
2. let dry
3. apply urethane

???
