Tapcon concrete screws work really well. You must use the correct size drill and a hammer drill. Using a regular drill or a well worn bit will cause problems, the Tapcon will pull out or snap. It will also snap if the hole is not deep enough so be sure to get a long enough bit and drill at least 1/8” deeper than the Tapcon. If you buy cheap masonry bits figure two or three holes per bit. A good bit will last much longer and you will know it is shot out because the Tapcons will get harder to drive. You want about 1" of bite into the wall so be sure to consider the depth of the nailing strip on your cabinet and a washer if you use one. I prefer the Tapcons with a hex head and usually use a drill/driver or 3/8 ratchet. These are pretty expensive if you purchase a small quantity so look for the bulk boxes in your big box store. Usually you will find them half to a quarter the cost in bulk.

If you use Tapcons, a 5/32" masonry bit works for 3/16" screws. A 3/16" bit works for 1/4" screws. You can use the same drill bit to drill right through your hang rail and the wall at the same time. Try not to wobble the drilling, as a nice straight hole works best.

If you google tapcon you will find them alot cheaper than at any of your local big box stores. Be careful when installing the tapcon that you do not drive the screw into the concrete more than 1 3/4". If you do, the lead thread cutting the concrete will wear down and the screw may snap. The bit that you need will be in the box of screws when you make your purchase.
