Hey there! I hope someone can help me with this... I own a mini home and would like to install a door between my kitchen and my living room. What I'm basically wondering is, can this be done if there was no door there previously, just an opening? Would the walls of the mini home be able to support a door and frame? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hmmm... I guess mobile home is what you might call it? It's not a trailer exactly, but a pre-fab mini home. It's 16x72 ft. Here is a link to one which is similar to mine.

You should be able to do that. Check the opening width and height. The wall thickness may come into play as well, but there are ways to deal with that. The wall will be plenty strong enough for the door if thats your question.

Modular maybe? How thick are the interior walls? If they're 2x4, there shouldn't be a problem.

That is my question, thank you. Have you ever done this before? Any advice you care to pass along? The ceilings are 7.5ft tall and the opening is 42inches. Above all my other doors, there is about a half foot of wall between the top of the door frame and the ceiling. How would I go about constructing that?

At 42" wide, you will have to fill in one side with framing and drywall. You will probably use a door that is 30 or 32". This will take some light carpentry skills. Drywall will need to be taped/finished, walls painted, door set and trim applied.
