I'm trying to figure out the correct way for flex duct to be installed in Texas. I'm in Dallas county so any help is appreciated.
My flex duct in attic is hanging with nice kinks, etc. it might be a little easier to lay flat on top of the blown insulation.
Attached is an example that I might want to cut/trim the excess duct and lay it flat on the ground or at least gently lower it to the groun from the main box.
Thoughts.

its best not to have big kinks in the flex duct....and when you install it we always pull it tight its helps with air flow because it smoothes out the inside of the coil spring and reduces friction...if laying down will accomplish this ..then i would do it ....don't know of any code about hanging flex...I never hang it... just remember you may have to use some 90 degree ells...thats ok also..

Thank you.
I need to figure out what to do with the first line you see in this pic.
It needs to be supported as it goes over this wall to the right.
It's a pain trying to fix someone else's mess.
you could use a 45 degree right off the plemtum which will angle your duct up to the top of your wall pull it snug and hook it up...not too tight though..

3 Duct Saddles in that area will probably solve the issue. One at the wall and one on each side a distance that is conducive to a long sweep in the ducting.
