Installed a two-piece wardrobe as tall as the bedroom ceiling is high (~92"). Second sliding door upper hardware cannot fit into upper track, and won't slide. Have to modify ceiling drywall (sanding, cut-out??) along track to fit hardware for slider. Space above ceiling is insulated attic space.

Estimate need to remove 1/4-3/8" of ceiling drywall. Removal would be 2-1/2" wide by 78" long (width of wardrobe). Any advice appreciated (except comments on why I bought a wardrobe as tall as ceiling is high). Thanks.

Is there any way you can cut the base shorter? There's usually some dead space(about 3" or so)under the units floor. You can then build a base from 2x3's or whatever fits and put it under the unit. Use a base molding to hide the cuts.
