That brand name might be new and only in Canada but the machine is not, theirs two companies here in my area that have been using that 'extremely similar' type machine for years now.
I don't personally know the owners of either company so I have no idea what theirs is called.
I've seen a few others after seeing that one, none I've seen seemed as heavy duty as that. But if that brand name comes to mind I'd like to know so I could take a look.

And when you hit a soft spot that 83 lbs goes thru the roof
I had 5 layers at my last house, roof decking was in terrible condition
For one it is on a winch and besides I am sure they made it wide enough to cross rafters. Really with all of the time it will save you can take a minute to walk the roof and look for trouble spots. And i'm sure it is no good on a 12 pitch either. Even if you can only use it 50% of the time it's worth every dollar.

Not sure which one you are referring to, but there is a lightweight one that uses a circular saw called the "Ripcart". It basically looks like a push mower adapted for a circular saw.

The winch won't stop it from going thru the roof
It will only make it swing & crash thru walls
If you watch the video its cutting in 12" strips so it should be 16" wide or more
Many rafters are 24" OC & trusses may be more then that?

Kind of hard to tell trouble spots under 5 layers of shingles
I imagine it would save a LOT of time on the right roofs
I wonder how much they cost
