Ideas needed to finish paint stripping.

Hello all.

I took it upon myself to strip a 1930's panelled banister. It has been painted over several tinmes and I wasn't comfortable just painting over again.
Of course I started the job without really thinking it through.
Anyhow to cut a long story short, I have reached a part of the bannister/staircase that I can't see how i am going to get my heat gun, stripper and myself into to finish off one side.
It's quite a small space and I'm flumuxed.

Anyone have any ideas?

Don't, between a combination of the heat gun, sander, and spackle, feather the edge as much as possible and just finish it. I really don't think it would be noticeable, and nobody would/could fault you. You can only do what you can do.
Or
Brush on a chemical stripper and kill yourself reaching in there.
