Hi there! I just happened to be looking online for possible solutions to replacing my double pane windows that seem to have mold in between the panes (not just fog/moisture guys...MOLD!) and I clicked on the link to the DIY Home Improvement Forum.
After reading a few posts I realized that I may have just stumbled upon a wealth of information that could potentially save me a lot of time and money on my home repair projects!
Even though I am a busy working Mom of three, I am always looking for ways to improve our home to insure it is not only comfortable and pleasing to live in, but also safe and energy efficient.
I'm looking forward to reading the posts!

Thanks so much!

Are you thinking Wood or Vinyl Windows?? Is color a concern? One of the most important things is find a good contractor--ask for references and pictures of jobs---and do your home work ask what windows he uses and why...And read the fine print on the warranties.. remember when it comes to windows you get what you pay for---
I used to live in the U.P. in the Sault.. I had to leave because the winters all little long... but I loved the summers

There are many windows companies and they all say they are the best... the problem with most is they are here today and either change the window line-which you can not get parts for, or they go out of business- a national window brand is what I would recommend but...get three quotes at least and do not be in a hurry to decide ask for any upcoming sales and compare brands next too each other if possible..unless your windows are falling out... do your homework and take your time ... you can buy almost any window but "if it is not installed correctly," it can be a forever problem...
I would make a decision based on how long you plan on living there... wood is natures best insulator...and the wood windows of today are far better than yesterdays windows.. if you plan on moving or want cheap - then go vinyl.... good luck
