Hi everyone,. I'm new here and this looks like a site with a lot of good info. I have a air handler that is leaking from the main pan into the secondary pan. If the hole or leak is not too bad is it repairable like filling it with some type of caulk or fiberglass resin. I got a repair estimate of 1,800 dollars to change out the air handler. I gues that includes a new coil. It would be nice to be able to patch the leak and get a little more mileage out of this. Any help would be welcome. Thanks.

with the side panels off the air handler you should view the lenght of the main condensate pan within the unit...dry it out and leave it off till after the repair.take a tube of clear silicone and hit all the corners of the pan and the base...then with a cheap paint 1" paint brush coat the remaining sides with a couple of passes...let it dry.if you see the hole in the pan focus on that first then do the rest of the pan.
