I have a very small budget and am looking at the cheap laminates.

I am trying to avoid chinese laminates.

I am looking at 3 right now, can you please tell me your experience with them?

1. Shaw Natural Values 8mm

2. Kronoswiss Noblesse Collection 8mm

3. Coureyusa 8mm

thank you

One year, on my way to the west coast with my girlfriend we stopped at a fish house in northern Ontario. The shrimp and whitefish were to DIE for! But the price was steep. When I mentioned this to the owner, an old east coast fisherman, he replied to me, "Good things ain't cheap and cheap things ain't good!" Words I live by even 30 years after:thumbsup:

Bad analogy. Makes no sense comparing the two situations.

As cheap as laminates are, you want to buy a very cheap one I guess. So you know not to expect much. Buy the one that looks best to you and hope for the best. In the end it's going to cost more to buy cheap stuff. But if the budget is small now, you either buy now or wait till you can save more.

Pergo has some as low as $1.71 Sq/Ft at HD. I wouldn't think you could go much cheaper than that. And that's for a known brand with a long history.

I can't really speak from experience about any of them but I think if you go too cheap you may find that you have a surface that scratches too easily.

I was referring to the comment about the Pergo product itself.

"a known brand with a long history"
Just struck me as funny that's all. If you were installing Pergo from the beginning you would be aware of all the BS that Perstop put out in the early days of that crap and then the re-formulation of the product due to the many early failures, then the twenty-five year warranty just to keep the crap on the market. Pergo is a perfect example of what a good marketing company can do to sell a not so good product.

Just made me laugh.:)

Again I ask Bud with all that floor installing experience, what is a better laminate? For 4X the price does DuPont make a better product? Or are you saying that all laminate flooring is crap? A less cryptic response is requested here.
