I have to replace top seal plate any advice.
This is a very old house & the original seal plate is the only plate I believe that is different from modern construction.
My roof also has to be replaced I am a novice do it yourselfer with help from experienced & capable but truly unknowledgeable help.
Could someone give me some advice & simplified & shortened instructions.

Sill or seal?.I would say to remove the old and install the new.You wanted simplified...:yes:

Are you referring to the top wall plate?

Do you have any photos that you can upload?

Why does the current one need replacing in your opinion?

Where are you located?

Maybe it would be best if you posted this question in the building or carpentry sub-forum.

The old one is rotted & bowed & yes I do mean the top seal plate except with this old house there is no top or bottom plate divided by a a piece of plywood , just 1, 2 x 6.
