Hydronic baseboard

762 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  beenthere
I am running hydronic baseboard from a room with a slab to a new room addition with an unheated crawl space. I need to loop the supply or return inside of the baseboard. Everything I read says loop the return line back over the fins. In my case, with the slab it would be easier to loop the supply over the element and avoid making a figure 8. Seems like a silly question but does it make a difference which line I loop inside?

I moved this to 'HVAC' for you----

We have several members that are expert in hydronic heating--I think you will get a workable solution--Mike---

I'll bump this for you---

You understand the theory --the cooler return pipe should be under the finned heating pipe--so that heat is not absorbed into the return pipe--

However, the loss is negligible---so I say--do what works.

A real heating expert will be along to tell you I'm nuts---and I'm okay with that.
