I've tried watering it down. Maybe 20%. I'm using a 1.8mm tip. No luck. Lots of splatter if anything at all comes out.

What else can I do to get it to paint? Or should I switch to an oil based paint for wood trim?

Thanks

I've never used a true HVLP [powered by a turbine] but with regular and HVLP conversion guns - they don't spray latex well. I would expect a solvent based coating to spray better thru your gun. Those that know more about HVLPs than me will want to know what unit you have.

Husky brand hvlp spray gun from HD. I’ve watched videos on people using latex but I’ve had zero luck.

I don’t want to bring out my airless sprayer to do a few pieces of trim but I may resort to that.

I’m addicted to that ultra smooth finish of spraying vs rolling.
