I have a carrier gas furnace/ac unit model #58GS-100 year 1988.The blower stays on constantly even when the AC is off.It only shuts off when I shut off the power.I think it's the cooling fan relay because i dont see it opening and closing. It's soldered on the circuit board so I guess I have to change the whole board #ces0110018.Could use some help please. Thanks

First check to see if the t-stat is set for fan auto and not in the on pos. Also some of the old carrier units when a limit switch tripped the fan would run until the limit reset. Check the t-stat and all the limits first.

It's possible it's the board. One would have to check it with a meter to know for sure.

But more importantly the furnace is over 30 years old. The heat exchanger has dimples that holes form in. A seasoned tech doing a water test can tell in a few minutes if your furnace is worth repairing. I recommend a complete inspection by a licensed contractor before spending any money on a repair.
