Hey everyone I'm new to the forum and have a question in regards to insulating or preventing heat coming into my hvac closet. I'm in Florida and I have a gas furnace. Well recently I realized that there was heat radiating off the interior walls that are shared with the hvac closet. So I open up the closet and immediately feel the extra heat coming in. I check above the closet in the attic and there is insulation all around it that is 12-14"thick. I built a plug for the air supply since we are definitely not using heat currently which has helped some. I got some high temp caulk and put the around the gas flue to try to further seal out any air. What other trick has yall learned to help prevent the hot air from the attic making it's way into the hvac closet?
