I have a Husky compressor that leaks and I took off cover and found the leak...it where the air goes from the compressor into the tank
I was wondering if I could take care the leak with some epoxy...JB Weld or something like that...but I realize it's under a lot of pressure 155 psi
I guess to unscrew the leaking part I will have to take off the compression joint in 2 places and hope that piece clears the fan otherwise I will have take off fan
Not something I really want to do!

It leak right where it go into the tank (seems like they put it together with black sealant...that where it leaks)

Nothing on the outside of the fitting is going to seal it.
Remove those two lines and unscrew the check valve using the hex near the tank.
Use Teflon pipe tape and pipe dope to reseal it.

When I use Teflon tape and pipe dope the Teflon tape goes on first then the pipe dope goes on top of that...is that correct?
I guess Ill loosen both compression fittings on the aluminum pipe(can't see the other one in photo) and then the small compression fitting and then I hope the fitting will screw in pass the fan
We'll see
the more fittings I loosen I'll have to re-tighten! That what makes scared because I don't want it leaking from more fittings!!

nothing ventured nothing gained..correct on the tape and dope, use both it will give you a little wiggle room so if you cant gorilla the fittings down for alignment it wont leak..

That's one fitting that has to line up exactly where it it is now so that aluminum tubing slides in and the nut does not get cross threaded.
One sure way to have a compression fitting leak is to over tighten it.
Do not use tape or dope on the compression or flared fittings.

once you loosen a compression fitting after the ferrel has been seated, it wont seal right again without a little tap around the ferrel only..

I got it done
It was a little bit of a pain
Had to take small elbow going to compression fitting on pressure switch
Had to of course remove both compression fittings on aluminum tubing
The only problem was I could not find a wrench (SAE) to fit on to the check valve fitting or the little elbow I had to use adjustable wrenches
Guess I should of broke out the metric wrenches??
And the other problem was the pipe dope they used at the factory was hard to get off...had to get dremel tool with a wire brush!
After I got it all put back together only thing leaking was the check valve cover...so I tightened that
Ending up using Teflon tape the pipe dope was good but couldn't tighten fitting where I wanted it
So far it seems to be holding air
