A few weeks ago I installed a ceiling fan with a light fixture (https://www.lowes.com/pd/Hunter-Omicron-LED-54-in-Brushed-Nickel-LED-Indoor-Ceiling-Fan-with-Light-Kit-and-Remote-3-Blade/1000522569). It is connected to a wall switch, and when switch is turned on I use the remote control. I noticed after I installed and used the fan, the fan would run and every 3 minutes it would make a sound that sounds like someone very quickly turned the fan off and immediately back on. I paid it no attention, thinking maybe it's just the way it works.

I never used the light until just the other day. Well, the light does the same thing! It will stay on and every 3 minutes the light quickly flashes as if turned off and immediately back on. What gives? Any thoughts?

Nothing else on the same circuit acts abnormal? Probably the remote box defective (assuming it has a box in the canopy). Bet Hunter will replace it. Again, if you have a remote box in the canopy, you can verify this by wiring the fan directly to the incoming line from the switch bypassing the remote.

I definitely don't want to report back to the rest of the household that we have a ghost. 😂

Nothing else acts abnormal. Light that was taken down worked just fine. Other lights work just fine too.

I will phone Hunter in the morning and see what they say. Depending on how the call goes I'll maybe try to wire without the remote box.

Update: it took a little bit to get ahold of someone at Hunter, but when I did she knew exactly what was going on. As suggested, I have a bad receiver and one is being shipped to me. Thanks for the suggestions!
