the house is residential with central air and heat unit.
i want the house to cool or heat when the humidistat is satisfied.
i am in the process of changing my manual heat cool thermostat to an auto heat cool.
can you explain the proper sequense of operation ?
the house is in florida and will be empty for long periods of time in the summer.
Just wire the dehumidistat parrallel with the thermostat.
That wat, either one can bring on the A/C.
But it may over cool on rainy days.
Plus, you can't have the thermostat set to auto change over, or it would damage the A/C.
Next way. Is to add a lockout relay. That if the thermostat calls for heat, it shuts off he A/C.
And brings on the heat. After the heat is back up. if the humidity is still high, the A/C will run again.
May I ask, if you considered getting a thermostat that does cool to dehumidify automatically.
