hey just bought a humidex. the cut needed in the joist is 6 1/4''. no where around here has that hole saw available, what can i use to make it larger, i used a 6' hole saw already, pls help, a snow storm is coming...lol
Not sure what a Humidex is, but I can assure you that there is rarely a circumstance that you can cut a 6"+ hole in a joist! 1/3 the total depth of the joist is the max, with no less than 2" of wood remaining top and bottom.
you can cut some pretty big holes in TJI joists depending on how far from bearing you are
