10" Mitre saw. Leaves splinters of wood off the back of a 2x4. Is the blade getting dull or is this normal? It doesnt bother me, I just want to make sure.

Your blade may need to be cleaned. Easiest way to clean is with ammonia, soak the blade and scrub with a nylon brush. If the blade still leaves splinters, it is probably dull. If it is a steel blade, likely not worth sharpening, if carbide it may be worth sharpening.
