Getting ready to remove rotting front stoop.
I don't want to rent a jackhammer so I'm looking for tips on how to sledge this stoop and slab.

That looks like it will break up easily. For best results work from the edge and on areas that have no support underneath.

16# works great but have no idea where you could buy 1 so settle for the 8# the apron/vest store sells,,, start right in the middle where that crack is,,, looks as if the front step's good

If I got stuck doing this I'd be first making cuts with a diamond blade with my circular saw across the width of the stoop so it would snap off in even strips instead of small pieces.

ooooh I actually really like this idea...... ya know you can rent an electric hammer that will make this job stupid easy...

A big hammer will make fast work of that.

That slab will probably break in less than 10 hard wacks with a sledge.
