You may have to predrill some of the screw locations... lumber we carry in our stores it is a Doug Fir so its little bit harder to work with than Pine.

i'm trying to have a 2x(2x4)s going horizontally against a ceiling joist of 2 inches. I', having a hard time finding a way to screw the woods together securely. i literally stood at home depot looking at all the brackets for 20mins and came home with all the wrong ones. anyone have a pic of bracket i can use?
