How to remove ceramic tile that was installed over marble hex tile?

The previous owners of my circa 1929 2-family house "improved" the bathroom floor by mortaring 12x12 ceramic tile directly on the original marble hex tile floor. It's hideous, you trip over the edge at the door, and it's hideous. Do you think it's possible to remove the ceramic tile and save the marble tile underneath it? It's a small bathroom - excluding the tub it's 3ft wide, by 8ft long, and this would be concurrent with renovating the rest of it and installing new fixtures. I'm not adverse to hard/tedious work, I've been renovating & restoring the house for 2 years now, with no end in sight...

Thanks

I assume the marble tile is not going to be salvageable. At least not without a lot of work.
