Hello,
I have an enclosure box that has outside dimensions of approximately 8.5 x 8.5 inches (4 inches deep). I need to mount this box to a wall that has vinyl siding. This box will be used as a bulkhead of sorts for coax cables going through the wall. There will be conduit running out the back of the box (through the wall) as well as out the bottom of the box (toward the ground). I need to secure the box to the wall, but I also need it to be in front of the siding (not recessed with the siding butting up against the sides of the box) so the conduit extending from the bottom of the box doesn't interfere with the siding.
I'm looking for mounting suggestions. I've previously received suggestions to use a "meter base J-block" vinyl siding piece, but I've never seen one of these so I'm not sure if it'll work. Could I also mount the box directly to the sheeting behind the siding, using a piece of plywood as a spacer so the box isn't recessed behind the siding? What steps should I take to prevent water penetration into the building? Housewrap, flashing, drip cap, etc.?
Thank you.
