I've got about 600 sq feet of flooring in my basement that is currently covered in glue down carpet tiles. I've removed a few of the tiles and I'm guessing a pressure sensitive glue was used. The glue is transparent and very tacky.
My floor is uneven, perhaps up to 3/8" in places. I want to flatten out the floor and install wall to wall carpet with padding. I have used self-leveling cement previously on other projects, but I had a clean subfloor to start with.
What would you guys recommend for getting the floor flat enough for the carpet installation. I'm concerned about the ability of an SLC to bond to the floor with the existing adhesive. The floor only needs to be flat. It does not need to be level.
