We have a track light above the kitchen island which we are removing. It has only one center fixture wired in the ceiling. We purchased three pendant lights which need to be installed individually. The track light is installed through a beam in the ceiling, which is not accessible through the attic because there is a bedroom above the kitchen. How do we brace the other two pendants? Will the lock down box hold the weight of them without having to try to put some type of bracing above the ceiling? And if we have to do that, how do we get it up there without destroying the ceiling? The pendant lights will be about eighteen inches apart. They are not heavy, but we do want to be sure they are stable.

Can you use round pancake boxes and mount them on the joist which should be 16'' apart and fish the wire through the holes? Also an adjustable fan brace with a box will work as well. Check your local home depot or lowes maybe even
mc coys if those are available. Most electric suppliers have them also.
