This is the same door that used to be in here. Now, when trying to put it back in, it won't fit into the frame correctly. There was work done on this whole porch but I'm 99% sure none of the framing around this door was changed in any way. I have included pictures of the screws, but I don't think any of that has changed either.

The top-left is the part that has a gap.

You've got the hinges on bassackwards. They should be folded in and screwed to the door. The way it is, now, they are holding the door proud.

I put the hinges the right way. It seems like the door is too large for the frame. The hinges weren't the (whole) problem. So perhaps something was moved when they were framing the siding.

Is there anything I can do here? The door is 36" wide and the frame at the bottom is about 34.5".

Nothing you can do but make the opening fit the door. Obviously the door cannot be "trimmed" to fit the framing. Or add framing to fit a 32" door.

How would I change the opening size? I tried banging the bottom plate with a 4# hammer. No luck.

I can't imagine how I would add framing without it looking terrible.

Do as Neal suggested. Add 2x2's to the exterior of your existing framing, only have them plumb and level, disregarding the out of whack framing you now have. Once it is in place you can install your door. Sure it will be sitting 1 1/2" out from the wall, but it will not look bad and will be functional.

The hinges are part of the aluminum frame. Should I buy new hinges or use those?

Is this just 2 new vertical 2x2's?

You would need the top 2x2 too, then you would leave the frame on.. Changing the hinge would be a pain.
So use the same hinges and don't move them at all?
