Hi, all,
I need to divert water over a window. I'm having vinyl siding installed and figured it'd be the perfect opportunity to build in an awning of some sort to divert the water that comes pouring off the roof in heavy rain (no gutters) from hitting/pooling on/potentially leaking into the window at the sill. I've looked at awnings but they're so big and expensive. I have nine regular sized windows and 3 huge (like 10-foot-long spans) windows. Any ideas?

Cheaper to install Gutters, than awnings. Unless your neighborhood has awnings on every home, your house will stick out like a sore thumb.

Have your siding installer include some type of extended flashing above the windows maybe.:)

Gutters are the best bet.:)

Thank you all as always! I'm leaning now towards extending the roofline instead of trying to retrofit window water diversion techniques (the roof ends right at the house with about an inch of overhang). Extending the roof would solve serveral problems. :)
