i have 2 OLD thermostats running off batteries.
one of them controls the heating in the basement with only 2 wires:

the 2nd one controls the cooler on the roof with 4 wires as seen here:

how do i control both of them into the new thermostat, TRANE 14942771? i just bought a 24V AC transformer that has 2 wires coming out.
so having a total of 8 wires, where should the wires go to?

You’ll need a diff thermostat, something with separate RC and RH terminals. What you have can be done but you’ll need isolation relays with that thermostat.

Remove the honeywell stat off the wall and see if it has Rc and Rh terminals or just one R terminal.

i think i see what you mean now. my Trane does not have a jumper. looking at this new wifi Honeywell, there's a jumper between R and Rh that can easily be removed

i swapped for this Honeywell RTH9585WF1004. i am able to have Rc and RH by removing the jumper between them, according to the manual.

please advise on how i can wire them. thank you so much!
