What is the size fastener and spacing requirement for wood bucks into masonry walls for a patio door?

1/4 X 3" Tap Cons about every 18" is what I use.
Try to hit toward the outside of the bucks so your not just drilling into the webs in the block.
You can tell as your drilling if your hitting something solid.
