My house at the Assessor's property search reveals an area of 950 for the attic. Panel is in the basement. 5 receptacles, 1 light.

As a rough estimate, how many feet of 14/2 would you say is needed?

Do you think that is a problem?

Well....I guess not.
Unless there is equipment in the attic, hvac, electircal panel etc., you really are not required to install either receptacles or lights.
I understand the convenience aspect if one desires. It's allowed, just not mandated by code for basically unused attic space.
I have always used 20 amp circuits for receptacles circuits and used a different, 15 amp circuit for lighting. In doing that you prevent being in the dark should you trip the receptacle circuit.
But I don't expect a swarm of inspectors arriving at the house to complain about it...at least not in this situation.

Millions of homes with almost nothing but mixed circuits of up to 12
outlets on #14/15A. Very very few complaints.....until afci's were
mandated....

EDIT: So what would I do if it was my house? Run a 14/3 up there
and use hot and neutral on regular breaker for the 5 outlets and
light. Remaining hot would be there for future use.
