I'm looking at Whirlpool Gold range hood. It has barrel-type fan. I was wondering if this hood can be cleaned at least to 80%, which means the fan barrel must be removed. Do I need a special tool such as a puller?
As a comment, and if anybody know a source please let me know, I have a old 42" Chambers hood, under cabinet. I tried finding a motor for it, but the one I found was not sealed, air cooled, high limit of about 140 deg f, and it kept shutting off. It has a double barrel, double shaft motor. Last resort, I am thinking of transplanting the motor/fan body from another hood to this.
I'm in NJ. I just want a replacement motor, not the restoration services. Thank you in advance.
