I think the right picture is the before picture and the left picture is the after picture.

That is true. The pictures went in the wrong order. Bottom picture is the concrete curb that has been blasted out with a hammer. The top picture is the rebar that remains.

Ones meant for metal.

Thinner blades will give a neater cut.
Thicker blades will allow you to grind on what remains.
You'll need both.

A sawzall with a metal blade will do it also. Might to grind a small bit down level with the angle grinder after the cut.

Ok I can try that. I actually have a metal blade for my sawzall. I hope it works but if it doesn't I guess I'll have to go buy a new angle grinder!

recip blades work but they burn up pretty quick. if you have a grinder zip wheel its faster and more economical

Yup right angle grinder with thin reinforced metal blades. You can also use an offset adapter in your sawsall, and a long hack blade, you just flex the blade down into a curve so it runs along the floor.

by doing that the teeth will dull even quicker from the action of having the blade rubbing on the concrete. hence angle grinder being a better idea

One Sawzall blade will easily cut what you show in the picture.

An angle grinder will zip them off just fine too but I have a hard time recommending a grinder first when other (safer) methods will work just fine, especially here, in a DIY Forum.

Also a buddy or gal friend with a Oxy-Acetylene torch works also.

Well a new 4.5" angle grinder was the winner. Once thin metal blade a poop load of sparks. It worked like a charm.

Oh yeah you shoulda seen the "why do I let you go to home depot alone" look on my lady's face when I got back with the grinder and bevy of blades.

I always said when I got that look, "Hey, you're the one that wanted me to do this so don't complain when I have to get the stuff to do it with! Think I'm gonna cut wood with a steak knife? No, I need this circular saw, and a chop box, and a table saw, and a sabre saw and a sawzall. And the blades to go with them. If these don't work I'm need something else too" :thumbup:
