Excellent forum for doityourselfers. Thanks

Up front. A buddy of mine who is a certified electrician helped me install the first box with the 30 amp RV plug. But he is on vacation, so he is not answering messages.

I'm swapping out a 30 Amp RV plug for a 30 Amp RV plug with a GCFI outlet. Has a 30 Amp breaker for the RV, and 20 Amp breaker for the 120V GCFI

The first RV outlet I installed I used 8 gauge wire with three wires- a black white, and copper ground. The 30-Amp RV Power Outlet with additional 120V Breaker schematic shows a "red" wire too. I have no idea what to do now. Does anyone know what the red wire is used for? The cable I installed does not have a red wire. I assume the green wire in the schematic is ground. Thanks in advance. Please see pics of the new box (and schematic) I purchased.

Can I use this box with a three wire cable?

Thanks, Jim

They are showing a seperate circuit for the 20 amp. Take your black wire and connect to both breakers.

Thanks. So I can take a black wire and make a jumper to connect both breakers? Or how would you proceed? Thanks
