Due to a leaky bathtub faucet I have to replace the seat on one of the faucet stems but I can't get the bottom half of the stem out. It's a Valley II faucet assembly that was most likely manufactured in the 80s. I tried unscrewing the grooved pipe but no matter how many times I turn it the pipe doesn't come out any further. Pictures are linked below. Any suggests on getting this thing out?
The seat usually come out with an allen wrench. Isnt there a hex shaped hole in the seat? when you put the new seat in coat the threads with anti-seize compound.
