My front "porch" leaks into the crawlspace. Where the concrete meets the house there is a gap. Yes, I need to caulk it. But then the water pools up, inches. I want to put concrete or something on a small slope so the water drains off.

What do I do?
Do I get pressure treated 2x4, plastic or shower liner and put it between the 2x4 and the baseboard of the house where that gap is? Sill sheet under it?
Just Quikcrete on a small slope after that?

Thanks for any help, and yes I know it's hideous.

Ahhhhhhh have you tried taking that baseboard off? Or crawled under and checked the structure? I'm betting it's molded under there... Concrete absorbs water and holds it in for awhile making it prolong for it to actually leak and was actually wet for a long time without you noticing. If it's already molded you HAVE to get rid of the concrete platform and take the baseboard and even the siding off and remedy the mold first and make that priority instead of worrying about the platform. PLEASE check for you and your family's safety!! I hope I'm wrong....:/

Sorry, didn't mean to scare you or anything...:devil3:
If you're clear of mold/rot you still have to remember concrete holds water making everything it touches eventually rot. Looking at the photos it seems you haven't sealed the concrete for quite some time. I'm not sure what is behind that concrete but if it is not waterproofed even if you filled in the gap it's going to be a never ending battle unless you seal your concrete all sides periodically. I would STRONGLY recommend taking the whole platform out and check what is behind it waterproof the hell out of it, and make a brand new platform making it slope away from the house and seal it ALL SIDES every few years. Trust me you do not want to be breathing mold spores :vs_boom: And if you're like me even if you did do a "fix" you'd still be worrying periodically "Is it starting to leak again?!" "Is that mold I smell?!" "Waaaaa is the seal seperating?!" LOL you get the idea. You'll feel much much better in the long run if you tear it down and do it right :wink2:

definitely pull the trim to get a better perspective . If looks ok, add flashing and seal to concrete, then put trim back up. wil need to clean contrete very well for seal to work. There are some great products that should seal just fine. The bigger issue as noted is the slope of concrete but fixing may not be an option for you.
