Hello,

I have steps out of my basement that are enclosed and fully shingled, etc. along with the roof. The shared wall with the main house has wrap on on it. However, since it is enclosed, it was never sided and the wrap is exposed. It starts below grade and then follows up along one of the first level walls.

It looks unfinished. However, siding it seems strange and I'm not sure trying to paint it or cover it otherwise would work.

Is the best move to just remove it since it isn't exposed to rain? Or is there a concern with humidity or something else in the stairwell that would justify leaving the wrap on?

Thanks in advance!!

Wall assemblies usually dry to the outside and house wrap is designed to do that. Since it probably originates above and to the sides of that entrance I would leave it in place. It isn't a big area so select a siding or finish material that you like and cover it.
